We’re always looking for ways to partner with others in our community, whether they’re non-profit organizations, local businesses, or local talent.
We help each other with events, library programs, community celebrations, and more. Contact us for more information.
You can help the Library support our community by:
- Being a speaker or performer for programs and events for all ages, or sponsoring one
- Donating prizes for summer and winter reading programs
- Donating supplies for programs for all ages
- Exhibiting art or collections in our display cases
- Volunteering at the library
Our Community Partners
Friends of the Library
The Friends of the New Lenox Library is a group of dedicated people who help the New Lenox Library expand its potential to serve the New Lenox community. Ongoing fundraising like the Book Sale, as well as special events like the Spring Gala and the Community Rummage Sale, add valuable new equipment and services to the library every year. Such fundraising helped establish the Digital Media Lab in 2014.
Village of New Lenox
New Lenox Library participates in many Village events throughout the year. You’ll see us cheering you on at the many 5K Runs and Walks in New Lenox. If there’s bad weather during a Concert in the Commons, our staff are there to provide shelter for your family inside the library. When the weather turns cold, we’ll be merry and bright together at Christmas in the Commons.
New Lenox Safe Communities America
The Safe Communities America Coalition improves the health, safety and quality of life for residents and visitors through injury analysis and the implementation of programs designed to increase safety and prevent injuries. The library hosts safety programs, such as Matter of Balance, to help you learn more ways to take care of yourself and your family and friends.
New Lenox Chamber of Commerce
The Library partners with the Chamber of Commerce to showcase library resources. Our Marketing Roundtables talk about best practices and new trends. Our Digital Media Lab offers training in and access to high-end design, video, and audio equipment. Services like A to Z Databases and LinkedIn Learning are invaluable to local businesses. We also love to participate in Chamber events, including the annual Business Expo and Halloween Fest.
Local Businesses
We’re proud to partner with local businesses. Teardrop at the Library sells coffee, sandwiches, and other goodies in our building. Our Trivia Night is hosted by Beggars Pizza. We also showcase local senior services and related businesses at our monthly Senior Coffee program (when it safely resumes).
Do you have a local business? Contact us for more information.
Local Schools
We love sharing the Library! Classes can take a tour, do a library scavenger hunt, and visit the Digital Media Lab. Request a visit or Library tour on our Outreach page.
