Fiber Arts December Meeting Change

Yarn

The Fiber Arts Group will meet only ONCE in December and the date has CHANGED. The group will meet WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 11th in Meeting Room A at 6 pm. Join other knitters & crocheters in an informal exchange of ideas and information. Beginners and new members welcome.

The Scene

The Scene

Join The Scene, a program just for those in grades 4-8, on Friday, December 6, from 4:30-5:30pm, to create your own video game-inspired artwork. Make an 8-bit fuse bead magnet for your locker or an ornament for your tree! Registration is required for this program. In November, the Sceners painted watercolor artwork that will soon be on display at the Library. The Scene is just one of several monthly programs for kids in grades 4-8. Looking for more great programs for your 4-8th grader? Check out calendar for more information on the following programs (grades listed in parentheses): Girls Rock Book Club (4-8), Guys Read (4-8), The Art Club (1-8), Science Club (3-6), and The Scene Remix (4-8). Lots of awesome activities and monthly programs await your older grade-schoolers at the library -- sign them up for a program today to see what we have to offer!

Come join us this coming WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 4th!

Books and Wine

Looking for something relaxing to do before or after shopping? Come join this very informal **new** "PICK YOUR BOOK" Book discussion. That's right, just come and listen to others recommendations or share your own about any book at all! We will be meeting every FIRST Wednesday of the month at 6 pm at Gatto's Restaurant & Bar, 1938 East Lincoln Highway, New Lenox (except January, 2014, when we will meet the second Wednesday, January 8, due to the New Year's Holiday). Pretty simple, really, and, hopefully, a fun way to learn about new and interesting books! Look for the NEW LENOX PUBLIC LIBRARY table! You can sign up online or just pop in! See you there!

Senior Center Coffee and Treats

Thursday, December 5th at 10:30 am

Seniors 55+ are invited to have coffee, tea & treats in the Senior Center, located in the Adult Services Department on the second floor. Read, play board games, play cards, take senior related materials or bring some. Meet, chat, and share information with other seniors in the community. See what the library has to offer seniors. Sit and stay awhile. This is an ongoing event occurring on the first Thursday of every other month.

Bookworm Cafe to Close Its Doors

Bookworm Cafe Logo

I am sad to announce that the Bookworm Café will be closing. Their last day will be on Sunday, December 8 for Christmas in the Commons. The board will be reviewing the options for the space at the next meeting on December 16 at 7pm. If you have any comments or suggestions, please email us at info@newlenoxlibrary.org and stay tuned for updates.
