Book Clubs

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Storm Runners

We have book clubs designed just for guys and gals in grades 4-8. Girls Rock Book Club meets every other month, and Guys Read meets monthly. Take an adventure with books and enjoy snacks, do a funky craft or activity, and meet other book-lovers along the way!

Girls Rock: In December, the girls will be discussing J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, a fun fantasy novel about a boy who discovers he's a wizard and attends the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. Girls Rock Book Club will meet Tuesday, December 17, from 6:30-7:30 pm.

Guys Read: In December, the guys will be discussing Roland Smith's Storm Runners, a fast-paced and suspenseful adventure about a teenager and his father who are storm chasers that get caught up in a Florida hurricane. Guys Read will meet Friday, December 20, from 4:30-5:30 pm.

Copies of the books are available at the Library -- just ask for one at the Circulation Desk after you register. Remember to read the book before coming to your book club so that you are ready to answer some discussion questions and share what you liked or didn't like about the book. We'll see you there!
