Donations Needed for 6th Annual Spring Arts Festival

Spring Arts Festival Donations

The Friends of the Library are seeking donations for their 6th Annual Spring Arts Festival. If you have a crafty side and have a piece of artwork, woodwork, painting, jewelry or other handcrafted item you would like to donate, please contact Amy Ingalls at friends@newlenoxlibrary.org.

The Friends are also looking for any arts, crafts, Wizard of Oz memorabilia, sporting tickets, concert tickets, small appliances, gift certificates, etc. to be used in gift baskets.

Thank you in advance for your generosity. All proceeds from the Spring Arts Festival go to help provide additional resources for patrons of the New Lenox Public Library District.

A Storytime for All Ages!

Our Youth Services department offers Simply Silly -- a storytime for all ages -- on Wednesday mornings from 10:30-11:00 am. Babies, toddlers, and kids can listen to books, dance around to songs, play with toys, and do coloring sheets with their parents. You never know what each week will bring: we might read about boats or stars, bugs or clowns, and sway with scarves, make music with maracas, boogie with beanbags, or play with the parachute! This is a great storytime for families with kids of different ages. Join us for Simply Silly on March 26, April 2, and April 9. We hope to see you there!

Magazines for Parents (and One for Teachers, Too!)

Did you know you can find the following magazines in our Parenting section: Family Fun, Parents, Working Mother, and Mailbox. Current issues of each magazine are available for browsing in the library, while back issues are available for check-out. Unfamiliar with Mailbox? This magazine resource is full of lesson plan ideas, crafts, games, book extension exercises, and more, and is useful for parents or educators. We subscribe to the following levels ofMailbox: preschool, kindergarten, grade 1, and grades 2-3. Find all these magazines in our Youth Services department, just outside the Storytime Room near the Parenting section.
