Youth Winter Reading Program: Look 4 The Bear Necessities

There's still time to sign up for our Youth Winter Reading Program: Look 4 The Bear Necessities, and read for a good cause this winter. By participating in our Bear Necessities fundraiser, your children will make a positive impact and help children fighting cancer. Pick up a reading log and drop your spare change into our penny jar and help give children with cancer the chance to just be a kid. All donated money will be given to Bear Necessities to fund research to help end childhood cancer. Stop at the Youth Services desk to pick up your children's reading log and start donating your spare change today. And as they fill in their reading logs, your children can earn prizes along the way. The program ends February 22.

Creation Station: LEGO Club

Lego Club

Take a look at one of the original creations made by a young builder in our Creation Station: LEGO Club, our brick-building club for kids. The Library supplies the bricks, and the kids bring the ideas during free-building time with our LEGOs. They make new friends while building fantastic creations that we then display until the following month so kids can show them off to their families and friends. The program is for kids in grades K-4 (no younger siblings, please). Upcoming meeting dates are Tuesdays, January 28, February 25, March 25, and April 22. Registration is going on now for January. Separate registration is required for each month and begins two weeks before each program.

The Golden Age of Air Travel (CANCELED)

David Kent, co-founder of Midway Historians will be here on Saturday, January 25 at 11 am in Meeting Room B to discuss the finer points of air travel. Come with your aviation knowledge and enthusiasm! David will also be selling his book, "Images of Aviation: Midway Airport".

This program has been canceled due to lack of registration.
