Join us the first Wednesday of every month for a lively discussion of books at Gatto's Restaurant & Bar, 1938 East Lincoln Highway. Come to talk about books you've read or hear about books others recommend. Eating and drinking encouraged. You can sign up online or just pop in! Look for the New Lenox Public Library table.

Children of all ages are invited to register for our Masters of the Museum program, which will be held this Saturday, March 8, from 10:30-11:30 am. Become an artist as you discover famous painters, sculptors, and poets through hands-on creativity stations. You'll come away with an amazing portfolio that will remind you of the things you can see at the art museum. Register your young artist today!

The Roots of Americana: Musical Memories

Join us for a Solo Concert on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 10:30 AM

Steve Justman has been performing Americana, folk, and popular music in the Chicago area and neighboring Midwest region for many years. Steve is a collector of songs as well as other artifacts of Americana. Entertainers of all types influenced him, the kind rarely found today. Steve showcases his collection of songs in his performances, singing and interpreting a mix of traditional and popular folk, pop standards, and classic country that people might know while focusing on connecting with his audience and pure entertainment.

Oscar Raffle - Make Your Pick

Come to the Adult Services Desk to "Make Your Pick" for the Oscars. Choose who you think will win "Best Picture" (only one vote person, please). If you're right, you will be entered into a raffle to win a movie basket. Entries must be made by 4 pm on Saturday, March 1.

Position Available: Digital Services Assistant

The New Lenox Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, service oriented self- starter with technical expertise who enjoys using, learning and teaching various technologies.

This is a new position in our newly created Digital Media Lab and will require someone able and willing to help develop the necessary training tools as well as work one on one with individuals using the equipment.

Familiarity with a wide variety of software and systems is required including: Microsoft and Apple computer systems, Adobe creative suite, video and audio editing equipment and software and more. The ideal candidate would be a team oriented, continuous learner with instructional and troubleshooting skills and a related technical background. Attending related workshops and seminars as well as participating in outreach activities would be required.
