We Need Legos!

The library is looking for donations of new or used Legos & Mega Bloks for our new Creation Station program. If you have building blocks that are no longer needed, we would appreciate them. Please bring your donations to the Youth Services Reference Desk. Thanks!

Fall Programs

Reading is Fun

Here are just a few of our weekly programs!

Programs for Babies: Join us for stories, music and fingerplays for babies from birth to 23 months with a caregiver. Siblings under age 4 are also welcome. Due to high demand, please attend only one baby class per week.
-- Wiggle Worms -- Mondays 10:30-11:00 -- prewalkers up to 23 months
-- Movers & Shakers -- Mondays 11:15-11:45 -- walkers up to 23 months

Programs for Toddlers: Due to high demand, please attend only one toddler class per week.
-- Itsy Bitsy Toddler -- Tuesdays 10:30-11:00 -- ages 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 -- Stories, music and fun for the growing toddler with a caregiver. Siblings under age 4 are also welcome.
-- Tales & Tunes -- Thursdays 10:30-11:00 and 11:15-11:45 -- ages 2 to 3 1/2 -- Stories, music and a simple craft with a caregiver.

Programs for Kids:
-- Pajamapalooza -- Tuesdays 6:30-7:15 -- ages 5-10 -- Wear your pajamas and join us for stories, snacks, crafts and games. Registration begins 8/21.

Wordplay

-- WordPlay: Young Writers Group -- Wednesdays 4:30-5:30 on 9/1 & 9/15, 10/6 & 10/20, 11/3 & 11/17 -- grades 4-8 -- Join us for some great writing exercises, a chance to share stories & helpful tips to get your stories off the ground. Registration for September meetings begins 8/18.
-- Girls Rock Book Club -- Thursdays 6:30-7:30 on 9/23 & 10/21 -- girls in grades 4-8 -- Make a funky craft, have a snack & talk about books with other girls. Pick up your book club book at the Youth Services Reference Desk. Register now for 9/23 meeting (The Girl Who Could Fly by Victoria Forester).
-- Creation Station: Building Club -- Tuesdays 4:00-5:00 on 9/28, 10/26 & 11/23 -- grades K+ -- Let your imagination fly as you make new friends, listen to stories and have fun with Lego bricks! Parents are required to stay with kids in grades K-2.

Artist Easel

Join us on Saturdays in September!

-- Dino'SUE'r Rumpus -- 10:30-11:15 on 9/4 -- all ages -- Dino lovers are invited for a ROARing good time as we celebrate Sue the T. Rex's 10-year anniversary at the Field Museum with stories, dinosaur games & crafts. Registration begins 8/21.
-- Artist Teacher Art Faire -- 11:00-3:00 on 9/25 -- all ages -- New Lenox School District 122 art teachers will be showcasing their artistic talents in a fantastic open house for the whole community.
